Ah, Christmas vacation from school. It's a time to catch up on a few things. Today I sorted and organized my greeting cards for the upcoming year. I picked out cards for each person on my birthday list and filed them under the appropriate month. Now to remember to look in each month's file at the right time so I get them sent when they should be sent!
I worked at cleaning up some clutter in the basement. I can actually see the top of the table down there. And a little more of the floor is now visible! The goal is to have it company ready by Thursday afternoon so a group of teens can come over and play board games all afternoon.
I worked on my budget today as well. That was a bit of a challenge since I had a little trouble with my budet program in my pocket PC. Actually it wasn't the program's fault I had trouble. I just didn't know what I was doing!
This morning I got going again on my aerobic exercise...step aerobics and while I did that I watched another lesson on the Math Tutor DVD. I am going through elementary math right now, brushing up on the basics. I just finished 1rst-7th grade math, and started math story problems this morning. I think there are ten hours worth of instruction on that. Then it's on to pre-algebra. When I have worked myself most the way through that I will order Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry. Not real sure how far I'll go...it goes all the way up to college Algebra, Calculus, Trig and Chemistry...a lot depends on how far Nathaniel will go. I have to keep just a few steps ahead of him so I can help him. This is good for my old brain.
I've been over-indulging in gluten free chocolate cookies. So good...but not without unwanted side effects. Yum.
Had to pick S up from work this afternoon. I let her drive home in the rain. She does pretty good now. Still needs lots of practice though for her driver's test.
I'm sitting here enjoying the lights on the Christmas Tree during this last week of December. It all comes down on New Year's Day. I've enjoyed the Christmas season this year. It was not as busy as some years in the past. It has been nice to have a more relaxed, laid back Holiday season. I felt like I've had more time to sit and reflect on the reason for the season.
Well, I know I started this with the title, a day in the life of....however, I really didn't tell my day in order. I've rambled all around kind of like I do in real life. Well, on to other things....like maybe another cookie and some hot tea....
