A Great Vacation Week

This week has flown by.  It has seemed like a whole week of Saturdays because Rick has been home on vacation.

Monday:

We had a great time in Coeur d' Alene.  Ate at the Bonsi Bistro.  They offer gluten free dishes that are absolutely wonderful. I had Ginger Beef & Broccoli.  We got seated at the island table in the middle of the fish pond, our favorite spot.

After lunch we shopped the resort shops.  I bought a miniature Uncle Johns Bathroom Reader for my miniature book collection.

We spent some time relaxing by the water, dangling our feet in the man-made creek that goes to the lake and watching the float plan come and go.  We also wondered through the resort and found a great little place without people where we could wade.

We finished up the day at Jamba Juice and then drove home.  A great day.

Tuesday:

This was  stay at home day.  We just hung out around the house most of the day.  Sarah had to work in the afternoon.

Wednesday:

We played a round of 18 holes of mini golf.  Boy was it ever hot out there!  Rick won.  He was just 2 over par.

Sarah volunteered at the library in the afternoon and Nathaniel had an appointment with Pastor Kelly to discuss the 1689 Confession in preparation for baptism and church membership.

Rick and I went out for a Starbucks treat while the kids were occupied.  We picked them up around 3pm and headed for home.  They changed into swim suits and I took them to the water park for a few hours.  We stayed home in the evening.

Thursday:

Rick and I shopped for a stand alone cupboard for my dining area  to hide some of the clutter we have had around there.  We finally settled on one.  It is plain pine but just the right size and suits my purposes fine.

Sarah got called in to work unexpectantly which worked out fine since we didn't have anything special planned for the afternoon.

Rick and I went out for our 27th Anniversary dinner at Red Lobster, which we enjoyed and then some alone time later that evening.

The kids made their own dinner.

Friday:

This is our actual 27th Wedding Anniversary.  We drove to Dayton to spend the day with friends from church.  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with them and then went shopping in downtown Dayton in the afternoon.  I picked up another miniature book for my collection.  This one is a fancy nostalgic blank book.

Saturday:

Since I am writing this on Friday, our plans for Saturday are to take in the Shiloh yard sales, and go to Staples for teacher appreciation day in the morning.

Sarah will meet with Pastor Kelly in the afternoon to go over the 1689 Confession of Faith, also in preparation for baptism and church membership.

In the evening we are scheduled to go on the Lewiston Underground Ghost Tour where we will learn about the history of Lewiston.  Sounds like a lot of fun!
