Devotional: Prince of Peace

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

"Shalom" (Peace), a favorite greeting of Jewish people, is the same Hebrew word used in this name for Jesus, Prince of Peace.

In salvation, Jesus is our Prince of Peace.

Colossians 1:20-22 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Jesus paid the penalty for our sin on the cross so that we could have peace with God. He truly is the Prince of Peace. Is He your Prince of Peace?
