Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Here we see the deity of Jesus. He is called mighty God. Isaiah 10:21 says the remnant of Jacob "shall return unto the mighty God".
The Pharisees sought to kill Jesus because He claimed equality with God.
John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
As mighty God, He is in control of all and does whatever He chooses to do and whatever He deems best.
Psalm 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
This is my God. No matter what difficulty comes my way, I know that He is in control of all and allows nothing outside His will to cross my path. He has allowed it for my ultimate spiritual good and His glory. He is the mighty God. He is bigger than my problems. I can trust Him.
