We are having computer problems again. I am posting this from another computer, not our main one. This afternoon, I was getting very frustrated with the computer and I could just tell I was going to reach the boiling point if I didn't do something about it. So I just got up from the computor and told my husband I had to get away from it because I was getting upset. I grabbed my purse and my book for Women's Study and the Study Guide and headed down to the park. Told everyone where I was going and I'd be gone for an hour. I really needed that time alone with the Lord. I took a short walk to let off steam, had to keep it short due to my sore toe. Then I came back, got my books and a blanket and went to sit on the docks to read where I could feel the movement of the water when the boats went by. It was so relaxing.
The neatest thing happened while I was there that just took me out of my world of stress and transported me into the world of nature...a dragon fly landed on the dock. I got on my hands and knees and got right down next to it where I could see all of its detail up close. It didn't fly away so I put my finger down under its head by its front legs and it climbed up on my finger. It sat on the end of my finger for almost ten minutes and we looked eye to eye at each other. Whenever I tried to turn my finger so I could look at it from another angle it would try to turn to face me with its big turquoise blue eyes staring at me. It was so neat to look at its eyes. At certain angles I could see deep inside them and then as I turned it the light would reflect differently and I couldn't see that deep in its eyes. I was totally transfixed with the detail of this creature. Everything from its eyes and body to the super thin detailed wings was just perfect, delicate and beautiful. I was in awe of God's handiwork.
For those ten minutes that I sat looking eye to eye with this dragon fly on my finger, my problems seems so far away. I felt like I was in a whole different world. It was really a neat experience.
