Marsha's Musings: Reinventing Myself

Those you who deal with health challenges in your life will know what I mean when I say that it seems I am constantly having to reinvent myself.

With each new injury or health issue that comes my way I am having to learn how to do things differently....basically reinventing myself.

Why God chooses to bless some of us more than others in this way, I don't know for sure. But I have to say it has helped me in a number of ways:

  • It has forced me to be a bit more creative
  • It has forced me to think outside the box
  • It has forced me to think ahead....what can I do here before I head upstairs that will save me an extra trip later?
  • It has taught me to realize that my plans are not always the same as God's plans
  • It has given me empathy for others
  • It has slowed me down a bit...given me time to think and read
  • It has given me the opportunity to develop the fruit of the Spirit....love, joy, peace, longsuffering, patience, kindness etc.
  • It has given me the opportunity to learn to be cheerful instead of complaining (I still need a lot of work on this one!) Another word for it would be contentment. The Bible says that Godliness with contentment is great gain. (I Timothy 6:6)
  • It has given me a mission to the medical field
