Frugal Friday Tips!

It's Frugal Friday!
If you would like some frugal tips click on the icon above. It will take you to a website dedicated to Frugal Tips.
With the price of gasoline going up, we try to save money and gas with the following tips:
  1. Don't be in such a hurry! Allow extra time to get to where you are going. Driving slower uses less fuel.
  2. Combine errands into one trip out instead of taking multiple trips out over different days.
  3. Set up your errand route so you are not covering the same territory more than is necessary.
  4. Walk if you can. Ride a bike if you can.
  5. Make a list. As you think of things through the week that you need to shop for, write it down so you won't forget and then plan your route so you can get it all in one trip if possible.
  6. Delegate. If you run out of milk, ask your husband or other family member that has to go out to work etc. to bring some home on their way home.
  7. Learn to say no. When your kids "just have to have" a certain item and they want you to run out now to shop for it, learn to say, "No, you can wait until I have need to go that direction. I plan to go on Friday. It can wait until Friday."
  8. Show your kids the gas receipt and give them a math lesson on far you can drive for that amount of money. Work out what it costs to drive them to their activities or to the store to shop for what they want.
