Marsha's Musings: Further Clarification of Post Below

I've been listening to J.C. Ryle's book on Holiness and while it is stressed that a saved person will desire holiness and can not live in a habitual state of sin, Ryle talks about the fact that each person grows in their Christian life at different rates. Some will exibit a profound amount of holiness in their lives while another Christian may not have grown in the Lord to that extent. The point is that a true believer in Christ will desire to be holy and will work to that end....just not all at the same rate. This means that we as Christians must be patient with our fellow believers and not judge them by comparing them to others or comparing them to ourselves. If we are comparing their progress to our own or others, then we have some issues with pride to deal with. God works with each person on a different time table and doesn't expect us all to be clones but He does expect that we will all have that desire and motivation for holiness no matter how weak it may be at the moment.
