Marsha's Musings: Er...Mousings?

I am at my wits end. We have a mouse in our house that has evaded our traps for four weeks now. We have had two live traps set for four weeks with nuts and seeds for bait. The mouse won't go near them. The last two nights we have set killer traps with peanut butter. But the mouse still is getting the best of me...literally.

Last night I was awakened...again...at 2am by the sound of mouse remodeling going on somewhere near the head of my bed. I pounded my fists on the bed, clapped my hands and turned on all the lights but the sound continued....loud enough so that I could still hear it from the bathroom (doors open, of course). I went back to the bedroom...pounded the bed some more and took my pillow and went to the couch for the rest of the night.

We have seen the mouse and have set the traps where it's typical path seems to be. But it won't take the bait.

If any of you reading this have any better suggestions bring them on! I'd like to get a better night's sleep.

Incidentally, I know the live traps work. We caught 5 mice on our patio late this spring and gave them a one way trip across the river and state line.
