Hope looks outward.
Depression looks toward self.
Hope looks toward others.
Depression dwells on the circumstances.
Hope dwells on the good that might come out of them.
Depression looks at the negative in others.
Hope seeks to encourage others and help them.
Depression is the tool of Satan to suck life out of God's people.
Hope is the tool of God to sustain life and preserve His people.
Depression looks downward and sees all the bad.
Hope looks upward and sees the goodness of God.
Depression looks around and falls into despair.
Hope looks up and sees Jesus.
