Book Review: Nourishing Traditions

I am so excited to be reading this book and learning about eating a traditional diet. This book was recommended in a previous book that I reviewed called Performance Without Pain. Performance Without Pain gets you started thinking about the role of diet in curing inflammatory conditions and it gives you some basics to get started, but Nourishing Traditions goes way beyond and teaches you why "politically correct" nutrition is wrong and then gives you direction for changing your diet.
Today I made my first chicken bone broth...it cooked for almost 24 hours. You add two tablespoons of apple cidar vinegar to draw all the minerals out of the bones. This a very healing, nutritious broth.
I also made my first batch of Kefir. This is cultured milk that is loaded with beneficial bacteria.
Last week I made my first batch of butter from raw cream. Mmmm that was good. I'll make more tomorrow.
I have enjoyed raw milk right from the cow too. Nothing quite like it and my son says it doesn't clog his throat like the store bought milk.
I look forward to reading more and learning more from this wonderful resource.

Hi Marsha! Thanks for dropping by!

I don't lose anything by changing the background, and it is fairly easy if you start out with a basic look that you like and just change a few things. I change background, title bar and font colors. The first thing I did before making any posts or making it open to the public was to change the basic template. This is really easy at the beginning. It would be trickier for you since you have some stuff in the sidebar. I just now tried changing the basic template and it kept my profile and all my posts but I lost most of the sidebar stuff. (Don't worry. I copied my old stuff back in and it's fine.)

You could easily change your title bar and the font colors. Background is more tricky. I can help you try if you like! Just let me know!
