Our Compassion Child, Melisa, comes from a large family in Boliva. Her dad works as a seasonal worker in the potato fields. They live in a mud hut with a dirt floor. The children have to walk quite a distance to school, so often the parents pull the girls out of school because of the danger in walking so far. Melisa has been able to attend school and is doing well. When we first started sponsoring her she was too young to read and write so her letters were dictated. Now she writes well and writes her own letters. It is always encouraging to hear from her. She love Sunday School and talks often of going and learning about Jesus.
