Day 7 North Carolina Trip...from the Slums To Presidential Living!

Last night may have been a night in a slummy motel, but tonight we are in the presidential suite at the Comfort Inn.  Quite a move up and we are loving it!

We spend most the afternoon wandering around the Opry Land Hotel Atriums.  That is beautiful!  It was so nice to walk around in a place with plants and waterfalls, a river and fountains and not freeze our hindquarters off in the process!  Now that was luxury!

We picked the best days for driving through big cities.  Yesterday was Sunday....the morning traffic was very light.  Afternoon traffic not bad at all.  Then this morning, most people stayed home because they were up all night, so that made traffic good too.  Big city driving was a breeze today!  Oh and all the construction zones were not working Saturday, Sunday or today, so no slow ups there either!

The weather continues to be bitterly cold but no slick stuff on the road ways at all for us so far.  It's been smooth sailing so far.

Tomorrow is our last day of driving until Sarah takes me to the airport on Jan. 7.  It's an hour and a half drive to, so she will get in three hours of driving that day.

We have had some good times on this trip.  I'm glad she let me come with her and she seems to realize now that it was good I came even though she didn't think she needed me to come at first.  I think it has been some good quality time together.

So now, tomorrow it is on to Pinehurst, NC.  Then the work begins!  Unloading Sarah's car and hauling it all up two flights of stairs.  Joy!
