This has been quite a day. Who would have thought doing the laundry could be dangerous? I had the laundry shoot door open (the base of it is eye level) and had leaned over to pick up a stray sock. I mis-gauged where the door was and when I raised up I bashed myself just above the eye with the corner of the door. Ended up with a pretty big goose egg and a bruise in spite of lots of Arnica Gel and ice. Had to take four Tylenol today for the headache too.
Today was a baking day. We were baking for the fair, hoping to win some ribbons and prizes. S made a Huckleberry Buckle and I made a gluten/dairy free cornbread and Gluten free cranberry muffins. We both entered some scrapbook pages and S entered some photography and crafts as well. N didn't enter anything.
S was disappointed to get a call letting her know she did not get the job she applied for at the yogurt shop.
When I went to the mail box this afternoon my heart jumped into my throat as I opened a bill from the county treasurer for $887 plus taxes that had not been paid. We just refinanced and switched mortgage lenders, so a few phone calls cleared it all up. Sigh.
This has been the week for spiders here....BIG spiders. A hobo spider in the kitchen and tonight outside a spider to dwarf the hobo. It's body is the size of a marble! S took photos, so I'm sure they will show up on Facebook in the not too distant future.
S drove us to the fair grounds and to run an errand across the river. She did quite well. Only a couple times I wanted to dig my finger nails into the door and put my foot through the floor. She is improving.
We had such good messages at church Sunday. One of the points our pastor made was that we are not as strong as we think we are...referring to the disciples, especially Peter when he said he would never forsake Jesus and then ended up doing that. It reminded me of a song by Rich Rollins by that title: We Are Not As Strong As We Think We Are. It's a very thought provoking song.
