You are Not Alone

Numbers 11: 11-14  And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?  Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?  Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.  I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

The thing I find interesting in this passage is that Moses is talking to God.  God has spoken to Moses time and again advising him and telling him what to do and supporting him in his position as leader to the children of Israel.  The God of the universe is Moses' adviser and supporter!  But Moses says, "I am not able to bear all this people ALONE, because it is too heavy for me."

Have you ever felt this way?  Maybe you are a boss, or parent, or a pastor and you are dealing with bickering and complaining among the ranks.  There are many times I feel like this as I go about my parenting when my children are constantly picking at each other or complaining about something.  I feel like I am having to bear it ALONE and feel it is too heavy for me when in reality, I am not alone...the God of the universe is right there beside me.  His Word advises me of how to deal with what is going on.  If I will only stop and ask Him, He will guide and direct my steps and show me what to do.

Take heart today and remember that you have the God of the universe in your corner.  You are not alone in your troubles!

Dear Father, It blesses me to know that I am not alone.  You are right there with me.  Help me to never forget this.  Amen.
