2 Corinthians 1:9-10 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,
Have you ever experienced the death of a dream? Perhaps you had dreams of how life would be after you got married. Maybe you had dreams about how it would be when you had children or dreams about retirement. Everything changed when the accident happened or you got the medical report or the call from the police station. Your perfect dream died. Perhaps you found a great church and thought it would always be the way you found it, but everything changed and your dream died.
There is good news. We trust in God who raises the dead. He can raise dead marriages, dead relationships, dead churches, dead dreams...anything dead. Sometimes it isn't in His will to resurrect our dreams, but He will replace them with something infinitely better--Himself.
When we open our hands in submission to Him and release our dead dreams to Him, He will give us a new dream of what He wants to accomplish through us. His goal is that we would trust in Him and not in ourselves..."that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body...For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God." (2 Cor. 4:7-15)
Dear Father, You have the power to raise the dead. You also have the power to replace dead dreams with the life that is only in You. Give me grace to lean on your power and find new life in You alone. Amen.
