Our Sustaining Heavenly Father

Isaiah 46:4  "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you.  I have made you.  I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (NIV)

I'm not all that old yet, but I do have my share of gray hairs, so I am glad I qualify for this promise!

Here God promises to sustain us.  I looked the word sustain up in my dictionary.  Here's some of the meanings: 1. To provide nourishment 2. To keep going  3. to hold up:PROP

God will give you spiritual nourishment for your soul.  He will help you keep going when you'd rather quit.  When you are too weak to go any further, he will prop you up and support you.  He is able to do all this because, after all, he made you!  When you are unable to take another step he says he will carry you and rescue you.

Are you having some tough days?  Are you feeling overwhelmed, tired and not sure you can keep going?  Trust in our Lord.  He will keep his promises.

Dear Father, Thank you for the spiritual nourishment and encouragement from your word.  You are a sustaining God, full of mercy and I praise you for this.  Amen.
